International Polish Karting Championshio - 3rd and 4th Round - Wallrav Race Center Track

On 5th of june 2010, on Wallrav Race Center track In Stary Kisielin near Zielona Góra, 3rd and 4th round of International Polish Karting Championship in M60, KF3 and KF2 took place.Test drives already started on Thursday in a company of a cloudy sky, but without any rain this time. Igor represented polish Birel WTR team, with whom, last year he won Polish Cup. Birel Motosport Central seconded young driver to start in Poland on account of World Cup qualifications. First 5 driver from every country, where International Championships take place in KF3 category will be able to participate in previously mentioned World Cup, which will take place in Braga/Portugal. 2nd Goal was to test the “pot”, which made a lot of trouble during the last event in DJKM. Igor from very beginning was making great times, which were putting him on the top the ladder. On Saturday morning during warm up Walilko did a nest lap time, beating his opponents for over 0,2s, which let us to think that upcoming time attack will be also as good as the training session. Despite great time, Igor complained about missing in his engine on the end of the first straight after the start, and he suggested to switch the pot. Finally he dropped the idea, and was driving on warm up settings. During Time Attack, Walilko did a little bit better time, but lost with other 5 drivers, overall taking 6th pole position. Final of 3rd International Polish Karting Championship round began at 10:50. Igor just after two first turns has taken the lead and didn’t give it back till the end of the race. No need to mention that during the whole race, temperature on the track was over 30 degrees. 4th International Polish Karting Championship KF3 round started at 12:50. 13 year old driver from Zielona Góra had a big chance to take the lead after the start. But a small collision on a first turn with Bartłomiej Mirecki caused a position lost, and pushed Igor to 8th place. Igor mounted a fast comeback, and after 2nd lap he already had a best time. After 10 laps Igor had taken the lead and one more time one the race during this sunny day. Wallrav Racing Club ward despite not taking a part in first round in Radom, he is just 15 points behind the leader Michal Grzyb (Birel WTR).

Igor’s comment about the event:
(…) I’m very happy from my won, specially in 1st final. I finished it on the first place even though that I had Just 0,2 atmosphere In my back right tire. During the start I crashed my rim, and had to drive whole race almost on a flat tire. Mr. Wiktor Turkiwiecz him self were working over my kart, so doing a good job was just a formal thing. (…)

(…) We just knew from beginning that Igor was one of the front-runners in Poland. For u sit was Just another test before foreign event. In next couple of days we will know if Igor got the “green light” from Birel’s Central for next starts in Poland.(…)
